eLearning Scheduled Outages The eLearning systems and services including Vista, eLIMS, and third party plug-ins, require regular maintenance and performance tuning. This may include version upgrades, installation of hotfixes and service packs, security updates or creation of half yearly backups while the systems are offline. Other reasons for outages include maintenance of the networking infrastructure and other building services such as power and air conditioning. IT Services in conjunction with Learning and Teaching endeavours to schedule outages at times of the year that will have minimal impact on staff and students. However the academic calendar is very crowded with both award and non-award learning and teaching activities and assessments. Therefore there will always be a group of users who could be adversely affected by outages. For this reason the maintenance schedule is announced as early as possible to give users plenty of time to plan their online activities around the proposed dates. Scheduled Maintenance CalendarReserved Weekly Maintenance WindowGenerally, users should expect that Saturday mornings 6:00 am to 12 noon is the time that My eLearning Vista may be unavailable due to maintenance work. Monthly Whole Day OutagesIn addition to the weekly maintenance window, all eLearning systems may be taken offline for a whole Saturday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm one day per month, if required, for necessary tasks that are more complex and take longer to complete. A longer outage is planned for the mid-semester break in July. Please check the link below for the exact dates.
