Getting in and
trying out Vista
Vista is the centrally supported platform for eLearning and is available for use by all UNSW staff.
Staff who have a UNSW Staff ID are automatically provided with a Vista user account. This account will allow you to login to the My eLearning Vista portal and experience Vista as a student by exploring an online course/module. Try it now to verify that your Vista account is active: http://vista.elearning.unsw.edu.au.
Staff whose account does not work using the above link or those who have a Miscellaneous User ID must contact the IT Service Desk to request access to My eLearning Vista. |
Registering for My eLearning Vista
If you are new to My eLearning Vista and wish to use the system to teach one of your courses please call the Service Desk on 02 9385 1333 to request registration as a My eLearning Vista user. You will be sent an information pack containing details of the available training and support, as well as the details of your local eLearning Group Administrator.
Please note: if you have previous completed certification training for My eLearning Vista, you do not need to complete this step.

Getting Access
to Courses/Modules
Vista Courses/Modules (including summer courses and non-assessable courses) will need to be requested through your local eLearning Group Administrator.
Your administrator will help you determine what role you require (Designer, Instructor, Teaching Assistant or Auditor). They will also be able to assist you in determining the best settings to administer your courses. More information is available under Managing Modules.
Please note that you will need to register as a My eLearning Vista user before your local administrator can give you access to your course/module.
Learning to
use Vista
Learning & Teaching @ UNSW provides online self-paced tutorials and self-help resources to support you in learning how to Vista as a Vista Designer, Instructor or Teaching Assistant.
In addition to the self help resources is this Vista Tasks guide prepared by the experienced eLIMS Administrator Gerald Nolan.
This guide explains how to
perform many common Vista tasks step by step and is a valuable resource for any new Vista user.
More information is available from the Training menu.
